§ AI Voice Agents
AI phone agent that makes and answers real calls.
An AI phone agent holds a real spoken phone conversation — answering inbound calls and placing outbound ones. Vanie AI runs on Google Gemini Live for real-time, audio-native speech-to-speech (not a cascaded STT→LLM→TTS chain), grounds answers in your knowledge base, books appointments, transfers to a human, and records every call — across 38 languages, including 8 Indian languages plus English.

One agent, inbound and outbound
Inbound — answers every call
Picks up 24/7, greets the caller, answers from your knowledge base, books on Google Calendar, Outlook / Microsoft 365, or Cal.com, and transfers to staff when it should. No hold music, no missed call.
Outbound — dials at scale
Runs campaigns from CSV, form, or API: qualify leads, confirm appointments, collect payments, run surveys. DND/NCPR-scrubbed and TRAI-compliant before every dial.
How it works
- 01
Connect a number
Plug in Twilio, Exotel, or your own SIP trunk in minutes — inbound, outbound, or both. Keep your existing numbers.
- 02
Build the agent
Write a prompt, attach a knowledge base, and turn on the tools it can use (booking, transfer, webhooks). No code required.
- 03
Go live & measure
Start on a slice of traffic. Watch outcomes, sentiment, and transcripts on the live dashboard, then ramp to 100%.
How the realtime pipeline works
Vanie AI is built on Google Gemini Live, which is audio-native speech-to-speech. The caller’s voice goes straight into the model and the reply comes back as voice — there is no separate speech-to-text, language model, and text-to-speech chain stitched together. Removing those hops keeps the conversation low-latency and real-time, so it feels like talking to a person rather than to an IVR.
Because the model listens while it speaks, the agent supports barge-in: interrupt it mid-sentence and it stops, listens, and adapts. Voice-activity detection handles natural turn-taking — knowing when the caller has finished a thought versus simply paused. Every call produces a full input and output transcript, so each turn is captured as searchable, readable text on the dashboard.
The whole agent is configurable from the dashboard: persona, prompt, model, voice, the tools it may call, transfer rules, and working hours. Changes go live within about a minute — no redeploy. You can rehearse any change in the browser with the built-in WebRTC live-test before a single real call lands.
Tools the agent uses mid-call
Knowledge-base search
The agent searches your uploaded docs mid-call and answers from your own material instead of guessing.
Calendar booking
Checks live availability on Google Calendar, Outlook / Microsoft 365, or Cal.com and books a slot during the conversation — confirmed out loud before the call ends.
Live human transfer
Connects the caller to a live agent — on negative sentiment, a regulated topic, or a direct request — to a single number or a routed set (for example support vs sales).
Graceful end-call
Wraps up cleanly when the task is done, then fires post-call extraction so the summary and structured fields land in the CRM.
Signed webhooks
Pushes call events to your own systems over HMAC-signed outbound webhooks — verifiable, replay-safe, and entirely your endpoints.
One agent, every channel
Build the agent once and run it on phone, SIP, WhatsApp, and Telegram. Test it instantly in the browser over WebRTC before any call goes out.
Phone (PSTN)
Inbound + outbound over Twilio, Exotel, or any SIP trunk. Keep your numbers; no telco rebuild.
SIP
Connect any SIP trunk directly — Jio, Vi, Airtel, Tata, or Servetel presets included.
WhatsApp
The same agent answers WhatsApp chats — multimodal across image, audio, video, and documents — with your knowledge base.
Telegram
Run the same agent on Telegram for support, lead capture, and follow-ups.
Bring your own telephony
Connect the carrier you already use: bring your own Twilio, Exotel, or any SIP trunk — with one-click presets for Jio, Vi, Airtel, Tata, and Servetel. Prefer not to manage a carrier? Buy a number from Vanie AI as a reseller. Either way, a number binds to an agent for inbound calls and acts as the caller-ID for outbound.
There is no telco migration. Keep your existing numbers and IVR, point the route at Vanie AI, and the agent picks up. Inbound and outbound run through the same agent and the same configuration, so what you test in the browser is exactly what callers hear.
Grounded in your knowledge base
Upload your documents or import them straight from Google Drive. Vanie AI ingests them in the background so large libraries do not block setup, and the agent draws on them to answer mid-call. Per-plan quotas keep storage predictable.
Mid-call, the agent retrieves the relevant passages from that material and answers from your content — pricing, policies, FAQs, product details — instead of guessing. Update a document and the agent reflects it without a redeploy, so its answers stay as current as your source material.
Outbound that dials itself
Schedule outbound work three ways: fill in a form, upload a CSV of contacts, or call the API from your own system. A background poller then dials each contact through the same agent that handles your inbound calls — so qualification, reminders, and follow-ups all use one consistent persona and knowledge base.
Every dial respects compliance automatically: an NCPR/DND pre-dial check and the default 10am–9pm calling window run before the call connects, with the TRAI disclosure preamble and consent capture handled in-conversation.
Recording, post-call extraction, and a built-in CRM
Turn on optional call recording and audio is stored on Cloudinary behind private, signed URLs. When a call ends, post-call processing extracts structured fields, writes a summary, and scores sentiment — then files all of it against the caller in Vanie AI’s own built-in CRM (Customer 360).
Each customer profile auto-builds from activity: interactions, full transcripts, recording links, a sentiment trend, notes, and tags. This is the platform’s own CRM — there are no external CRM connectors. To move data into your stack, Vanie AI sends HMAC-signed outbound webhooks you can verify and route wherever you like, and the dashboard surfaces usage, cost, and call metrics directly.
Platform or bring-your-own-key
Pricing is usage-based at 1 credit = ₹1. On the Platform plan, Vanie AI pays the Gemini bill: a voice call is 5 credits/min, plus 0.5 for recording and an optional 2 for extraction — about 5.5/min base and 7.5/min all-in. On BYO, you bring your own Gemini key, pay only a thin platform fee, and the call drops to 1 credit/min (extraction 1.5) — saving roughly 75–95% on credits. Keys are encrypted, with a per-call key-fingerprint audit.
Illustrative example: 1,000 minutes of talk time. On Platform at 7.5/min all-in (5 call + 0.5 recording + 2 extraction) that is 7,500 credits ≈ ₹7,500; the same volume on BYO at 3/min all-in (1 call + 0.5 recording + 1.5 extraction) is 3,000 credits ≈ ₹3,000 in usage before the thin platform fee. For context, a fully-loaded 24/7 human seat typically costs many times more, while usage-based pricing means you pay only for actual talk time. Start on the Free Trial (₹0, 500 credits, no card); plans run Starter ₹999 (≈ $12) through Scale ₹9,999 (≈ $116) and Enterprise custom, plus 18% GST for India billing — pay in INR or with international cards. See the full breakdown on the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions
- What is an AI phone agent?
- An AI phone agent is software that answers and places real phone calls, understands the caller in natural speech, and replies in a human-sounding voice without a fixed script. Vanie AI builds one on Google Gemini Live — audio-native, real-time speech-to-speech — so it supports barge-in and natural turn-taking, searches your knowledge base mid-call, books appointments, and transfers to a human. (For a fuller definition and how it differs from an IVR or chatbot, see the explainer “what is an AI voice agent”.) Billing is usage-based at 1 credit = ₹1 — a 4-minute call is about 30 credits all-in on the Platform plan.
- Does it handle both inbound and outbound calls?
- Yes. The same Vanie AI agent answers inbound calls 24/7 and runs outbound campaigns scheduled from a form, a CSV upload, or the API — a background poller dials each contact through that same agent to qualify leads, confirm appointments, and send reminders, with an NCPR/DND pre-dial check and the 10am–9pm calling window enforced before every outbound call. Cost is identical in both directions: 5 credits/min for the call on Platform (1 credit/min on BYO), plus 0.5 for recording and an optional 2 for post-call extraction. Illustrative example: 200 outbound calls averaging 3 minutes at 7.5 credits/min all-in = 200 × 3 × 7.5 = 4,500 credits ≈ ₹4,500 — well within the Business plan’s 6,000 credits, with the difference left for inbound traffic.
- Which languages are supported?
- It speaks 8 Indian languages — Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati, and Malayalam — plus English, with mid-call code-switching when the caller changes language. Because Vanie AI runs on Gemini Live as audio-native speech-to-speech, the agent hears and replies in voice directly, so accent and language handling stay natural without a separate transcription step. A caller can open in Hindi, drop in English product terms, and switch to Tamil, and the same agent follows along on one call. Language choice does not change pricing: every call bills at the same usage-based rate (5 credits/min for the call on Platform, 1 on BYO). Illustrative example: a 5-minute bilingual support call costs 5 × 7.5 = 37.5 credits ≈ ₹37.5 all-in on Platform, regardless of how many times the caller switches language.
- Can the agent book appointments or transfer to a human?
- Yes. It checks live calendar availability and books, reschedules, or cancels during the call, and transfers the caller to a human on sentiment, a regulated topic, or a caller request — to a single number or a routed set (for example support vs sales).
- Is it compliant for calling in India?
- Vanie AI enforces TRAI/DLT rules: DND/NCPR scrubbing before outbound dials, the 10am–9pm calling window, a recording-consent preamble, and DPDP-aware retention with an audit trail on every call.
